Excellence and Humility: Pursuing Them Both

A believer’s pursuit of humility is not to be an excuse for mediocrity.
Instead, he should pursue excellence with the goal of glorifying God, unconcerned whether the world praises him or not.

A Christian student could then get top honors, a Christian employee awarded “top employee”, and a Christian businessman deemed a most commendable one, and still remain humble: seeking to be the best, not to gain the praise of men, but to glorify the Lord his God.
